About us...

Firstly let us introduce ourselves. We are Colin, Rita and John Pell. We always had dogs, mainly Labradors. Having moved to Malta in 1990 from Yorkshire, England we continued keeping Labradors for a number of years, breeding some which went on to be shown in Malta.

It was in 2000 that we finally got our first show dog, a Basset Hound called Tara, from David and Claire Darley in the UK. This sparked almost 10 years of showing.

For these first few years, the kennel was based around Basset Hounds, along with a lovely Min. Longcoat Dachshund which again was bred in the UK by David and Claire Darley. These early years blessed us with good show results, numerous Group wins and Champion dogs.

It was only in 2004 that we finally got into Clumber Spaniels with a bitch from Gina Bowers in the UK.  Silk started the love affair with this gentle giant which led up to the newest member of the team, an outstanding puppy dog from Hilda and Paul Monaghan in the UK.  It was Hilda's help and support, after the loss of Silk and the disappointment with Max, that lead to what we hope will be a long lasting friendship and the first Tweedsmuir to join the Jorico family.
